HON.PROF. GABRIEL KATANA GONA

Hon. Prof. Gabriel Katana Gona Is currentyly the County Executive Commitee Member ("Minister") in charge of Education and (I.C.T) in the County  Government of Kilifi

Prior to his appointment as County Executive Committee Member - Education and ICT, Hon Prof. Gabriel Katana Gona Served as a chair of the Kilifi County Education Board for a period of four (4) years. He has also served in various university administrative positions  as Deputy Principal " Academic Affairs), Pwani University and as Registrar(Academic Affairs) Kenyatta University. Hon Prof. Gabriel Katana Gona has also served as the first President for DIES- Alumni Network for Higher Education in the Eastern African Region.

Hon Prof Gabriel Katana Gona Is a holder of Doctorate Degree in Polymer Physics form the University of Mainz- Germany. As a County Executive Commitee Member in charge of Education and ICT Hon. Prof Gabriel Katana Gona has initiated various Programs geared towards improving the quality of Early Childhood Development  Education (E.C.D.E), Vocational  Training for Youth employerbility and implementation of I.C.T supported services in all sectors of Kilifi County. He was invited to the State Ministry of Education and Culture, Federal of State of Bavaria, where he was exposed to the dual system of Education which provides health, academic and Vocational Training. At the time Hon. Prof. Gabriel Katana Gona was honoured  by the Bavaria State and granted him guest professorship at the Technical University of Munich, the Max Plank Institute for social rights and Social practices in Munich above all as guest of minister of the state Ministry of Education & Culture.

The Hon. Prof. Gabriel Katana Gona is committed to revitalizing the programmes in the education department to realize its mandate of providing quality Education, Vocational Training and enhancing digital Literacy through information and Communication Technology.
